| The Scouts stopped by the St. James Fire Department this morning to learn about what our members do, and how we protect our community.
Our Fire Prevention Committee, led by Firefighter Jessica Kern, spent much of the morning teaching the kids about fire safety and prevention. The kids received a first-hand lesson on the gear our members wear on calls and toured the trucks, with lessons on how we use all the different tools on the rigs.
They asked great questions and listened closely. We call that a successful visit.
We were glad to have them — teaching future leaders is one of the best parts of the job. |
